Buyers’ FAQs for Switzerland
How long does it take to buy a property in Switzerland?
Generally speaking, it takes around 2-4 months to buy an existing property in Switzerland. However, there are instances where it can take longer if the sale is more complex or if there is a long property chain involved.
For an off-plan purchase you can typically expect to wait about 12 months from start to finish. Heavy construction is not permitted during the winter season and apartments and chalets are usually timed to be completed in early December each year allowing the buyer to enjoy their first Christmas in their new ski property.
