Les Deux Alpes is just 1h20 from Grenoble and also close to Chambery airport. It is one of the oldest ski resort in France, created in the 30s, a few years after Chamonix.
It has now 227km of slopes and the largest high-altitude domain in Europe, thanks to the Glacier de Mont de Lans, between 2900 and 3600m. It has one of the longest ski seasons in the Alps with many ski teams using its glacier well into the summer months.
The resort is a real dual-season resort, with a very busy summer thanks to its renowned bikepark and a large choice of sport activities as well as a small swimming lake and a 9-hole golf course.
There has been significant investment in recent years including the opening of the new Jandry Express in December 2024 which takes you from 1,650m to 3,200m in just 17 minutes.
If you are looking to buy a high-altitude apartment or chalet in the French Alps then Les Deux Alps is a great option. Property prices here are still quite competitive and L’Emparis occupies a prime ski-in ski-out location.
