Buyers’ FAQs for France
How much rental income tax am I liable for?
If you are non-resident you can expect to pay a flat rate of 20% on your property income. However, there are some deductions to be considered before you know the full amount that needs to be taxed. For example, Micro-BIC may be used for furnished lettings that have a gross rental income below 32,900€, which taxes 50% of gross income (without deductions). It’s a simplified process that removes the need for separate business tax forms, accounts and expense declarations, although it will always show a fixed taxable profit each year.
