The Glemmtal Valley in Austria is approximately 30kms long and tracks the upper reaches of the River Saalbach.
This is an area of lush rolling hills, wild meadows, glistening waterfalls and towering alpine peaks.
The upper 10kms of the valley incorporates the world-famous Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski region – ‘The Home of Lassig’.
On entering the valley, you will first arrive at Saalbach – the most well-known of the resorts that make up this vast ski region. Here you will find lively après ski, and a young crowd enjoying the wide, south-facing pistes.
A few kms further up the valley and the vibe goes distinctly upmarket as you arrive in glamorous Hinterglemm.
Here, fur-clad skiers drink Apreol in the late afternoon sunshine while being entertained by DJs with a distinctly ‘Balearic’ vibe.
Continue driving about 1km past the ‘Hochalmbahn’ and ‘Zwolfer’ gondolas and you will reach the charming hamlet of Lengau.
This is a spectacular location, surrounded by nature, with only the river and wildlife to wake you up in the morning – yet all just two minutes by car or ski bus from Hinterglemm.
Lengau is also home to some rare ‘Zweitwohnsitz’ land which allows owners to buy an Austrian chalet with genuine 2nd home use.
One such new chalet – the Tauern Lodge - is about to start construction and now available for sale via Alpine Property Finders.
Nestled into this beautiful alpine wilderness the Tauern Lodge will be one of the finest chalets in the Glemmtal Valley.
Built over four floors the chalet will comprise 4/5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, sauna, double garage, hot tub, fireplace, south facing views and terraces and comes with rare 2nd home or ‘zweitwohnsitz’ permission meaning that there is no rental obligation.
The chalets sits on its own private plot of 895m2 and will have a total of 271m2 of internal living space as well as a further 110m2 of outdoor terraces and balconies.
Since construction is yet to start there is still plenty of time for the buyer to work with the architect and interior designer to ensure that the layout / interior is to your exact requirements. Completion is due in December 2022.
